Jackie Tillett Named Dare’s Elections Director
Longtime Dare County employee Jackie Tillett has been named Elections Director for Dare County. The Dare County Board of Elections recommended Tillett for the job following the resignation of the County’s previous director earlier this month. As required by North Carolina law, the North Carolina State Board of Elections approved the appointment and it became effective August 13.
Tillett has 35 years of service with Dare County. She began her career in the Planning Office and transferred to Elections in 2013.
“We are exceptionally pleased and grateful that Jackie was in place and could hit the ground running,” said Sandy Semans Ross, Chair of the Dare County Board of Elections. “Her experience in elections was crucial in continuing to plan and implement all that is necessary to ensure a safe, efficient and secure election in 2020.”
