Ocracoke Re-Entry Permits Available This Week

Share post:

The Hyde County Emergency Services Department is issuing re-entry permits to Ocracoke residents and property owners this week to be used when emergency conditions limit general access to Ocracoke Island.

Hyde County staff will issue permits in Ocracoke at the Ocracoke Community Center on the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, May 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Re-entry permits are now issued to be valid for several years. To make the process even easier, people with existing permits only need to bring their existing tag to apply for a new 2018-2023 expiration date sticker for their permit. Those applying for the first time will need to complete the full application and supply all necessary documents.

For more information and / or to apply by mail, visit the Hyde County website at http://www.hydecountync.gov/departments/ocracoke_re-entry_permit_information.php
