Luana Gibbs, Health Director for Hyde County, announced Hyde County’s second laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 3.

The individual is in isolation at home, and close contacts have been identified and are quarantined as well.

“Though we have been fortunate to have a very small number of laboratory-confirmed cases, we must not become complacent, as COVID-19 remains an extremely contagious virus,” stated the county in a Wednesday press release. “Gibbs reminds the public to implement and continue your 3 Ws practices: Wear, Wait, Wash!”
