Student meals will be available at five Hatteras Island locations

During the mandated school closure and corresponding remote learning program, Dare County Schools announced that the School Nutrition Department will serve breakfast and lunch to all children that live in Dare County, ages 0-18.

These meals are at no cost and will be available as long as North Carolina schools are closed due to the Governor’s Executive Order.

There are a total of 14 pick-up locations in Dare County, which includes five locations on Hatteras Island.

Children that want a meal can come to any of the pick-up locations listed below and receive a meal at no cost.

Meal Schedule

Meals will be served Monday through Friday starting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Breakfast will be available from 7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

Lunch will be available from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 a.m.

  • Manteo Elementary School
  • First Flight Elementary School

COMMUNITY LOCATIONS:

  • Avon, Food Lion
  • Tri-Villages, Community Building
  • Buxton, Cape Hatteras Elementary
  • Hatteras Village, Civic Center
  • Wanchese, Bethany United Methodist Church
  • Manteo, Roanoke Community Center (Head Start)
  • Stumpy Point, Community Center
  • Manns Harbor, Fire Department
  • East Lake, Community Center
  • Nags Head, Tanger Outlet & Dowdy Park
  • Kill Devil Hills, Belk Center
  • Kitty Hawk, Daniels Home Import & Kitty Hawk Elementary
  • Colington, TJ’s Gas & Grill
