The Dare County Water Department has announced that water main repairs have been completed and has issued a Water System Pressure Advisory for Avon water customers located off of Harbor Road in Avon—as indicated by the yellow highlighted area on the map below—whose water service was temporarily disrupted yesterday due to a water main break that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Because the system was not open to contaminants at any time during the disruption, there is no boil water advisory in effect, and water remains safe for consumption.
The Dare County Water Department appreciates the patience and cooperation shown by water customers in Avon as crews worked diligently to make repairs and restore service to the community.
