HATTERAS– Stacie Leigh Almquist, 50, formerly of Afton (Nelson County), Va.,passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014 in Norfolk General Hospital. Shewas the daughter of the late Nathan Miller and Donna Hinkley.
Shewas a wonderful, loving mother of four, Melissa Dawson, 26, who residesin Shanghai, China, with her husband Aaron and son Oscar, DanielAlmquist, 20, Michelle Almquist, 17, and Thomas Almquist, 12, all ofHatteras.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Wendy Wyantand her husband Mark of Afton, Va., and Carrie Fisher and her husbandMarty of Tennessee.
Stacie was employed with Midgett Realtywhere she worked in reservations for eight years. She left behindseveral close friends and her Midgett Realty family that loved her andwill greatly miss her smiling face.
A Celebration of Life washeld on April 5 on the beach near Ramp 55, which was one of herfavorite places to walk, and rose petals were thrown into the ocean byall in attendance to show their love and say their goodbyes.
