AVON –Gerald DavisWilliams, 78, of Avon died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010. Born in Avon, hewas the son of the late Charles T. Williams II and the late IanthaO’Neal Williams. He was a retired chief yeoman with the U.S. CoastGuard and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Mr.Williams issurvived by four sisters, Velma Barnett, Retta Quidley, Vera Meekins,and Gloria O’Neal, all of Avon, and numerous nieces, nephews, andcousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by asister, Beatrice Hooper, and a brother, Charles T. Williams III.
A funeralservicewill be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s UnitedMethodist Church by the Rev. Roger Dill. Burial will be in the familycemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the churchon Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
