BUXTON — Cynthia Lawrence, 73, died on Monday, June 20, 2016 at herhome. Born in Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late William T.Brown Sr. and Evely Vaughan Brown and the widow of Beverly “Bud” RoyLawrence. Cynthia retired as a system analyst with the U.S. Departmentof Defense.
Cynthia is survived by a daughter, Traci L. Scott, of Buxton; twogranddaughters, Wendy Lawrence and husband, John Bakken, of Las Vegas,Nev., and Raven Lawrence and husband, Michael Thompson, of Chesapeake,Va.; and five great-grandchildren, Camron, Kaliyah, Amiyah, Nevaeh andMariah. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in deathby a brother, William T. Brown Jr.
A celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held on Sept. 10, 2016 withmore information to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to the Outer Banks SPCA, PO 2477, Manteo, NC 27954.
