OCRACOKE — Virginia Howard Austin,87, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at her home. A native of Ocracoke,Virginia was the daughter of the late Napoleon Howard and Sabra TolsonHoward. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of Ocracoke UnitedMethodist Church and the Women’s Society.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Clyde Sherrill Austin; twodaughters, Tammy Austin Tolson and Trudy Austin; and a grandson, CaseyTolson, all of Ocracoke. Along with her parents, she was preceded indeath by three brothers, Claude Gaskill, Jesse Gaskill, and CharlesHoward.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at Ocracoke UnitedMethodist Church with Rev. Richard Bryant officiating. Private burialwill take place at the Howard-Williams cemetery.
