Dare LWV Presents Telemedicine Info with Outer Banks Hospital Experts
May 1, 2019 @ 7:00 pm EDT
Dare County League of Women Voters is hosting Tony Buzzacco and Denise de Pedro from the Outer Banks Hospital for an informative evening discussing Telemedicine: What is it and can I trust it? Telemedicine, also referred to as telehealth and e-health, allows health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients remotely using communication technology. This includes a wide array of clinical services using internet, wireless, satellite and telephone service. Telemedicine is growing in awareness and popularity. It is typically a convenient, effective way for patients to interact with their health care provider.
On May 1 at 7:00 pm you can find out how the Outer Banks Hospital is using remote care to better serve Outer Banks residents and vacationers; and, how Vidant Health and the Outer Banks Hospital are implementing remote care, and where they see the future of the healthcare industry heading. The Dare League is hosting the presentation followed by Q&A with Buzzacco and de Pedro at Kill Devil Hills Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. The session is free and open to the public. Bring a friend and find out how this technology is being implemented in our Outer Banks community and get your questions answered.
