Dare Watermen to Host DMF Director

The Dare County Commission for Working Watermen is set to host during its quarterly meeting this week Steve Murphey, director of the state Division of Marine Fisheries, to discuss fisheries issues.
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Center, 23646 N.C. 12.
The commission aims to protect and enhance the commercial fishing industry in Dare County, according to the county website. It monitors and advises county commissioners on topics such as pending or proposed laws, rules, regulations, fishery management plans and coastal habitat plans, as they relate to commercial fishing in the county.
