The Dare County Master Gardeners invite residents and visitors to celebrate Earth Day with a talk and tour event at the Outer Banks Arboretum & Teaching Garden on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

During this event, attendees will learn more about Azaleas, which provide spectacular flower masses and a variety of colors that range from red to pink to white. Azaleas come in a number of species and cultivars, many of which are native and can be grown on the Outer Banks.

The 45-minute talk and tour will take place at 10 a.m. and again at 11 a.m. on April 22, 2021. This event is free and open to the general public. It will be held rain or shine, and no pre-registration is required.

The Outer Banks Arboretum & Teaching Garden is adjacent to the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center, which is located at 300 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills. It is a free, open park with wheelchair-accessible pathways that are available to the public from dawn until dusk, 365 days a year.
