MANTEO — Virginia Gentry Tinnell, 87, of Manteo, NC passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023. She was born on March 20, 1936, in Schyler, VA to the late Lettie Jordan Gentry and Elzy Gentry.
Virginia dedicated many years of her life as a legal secretary for the City of Richmond. Her commitment and hard work were greatly appreciated by those she served.
For the past four and a half years, Virginia and her husband made Manteo their home.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Nelson Tinnell, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Virginia’s memory will also be cherished by her daughter, Sharon Tinnell, and Sandra Shull, along with her grandson, Kris Young, and great-grandchildren, Rylee, Keegan, and Peaches Young.
During her final days, Virginia received the utmost care and support from Adoration Hospice. Their dedication and compassion ensured her comfort and well-being, providing peace to both Virginia and her loved ones.
A graveside funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, VA.
