Native son of Kinnakeet, Blake Wesley Miller, suddenly departed this life on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the family home in Camden, NC at the age of 28. Blake was the only child of his mother, Jettie Miller, and John B. Miller, Jr. (deceased), and the grandson of his paternal grandmother, Nita Miller, all of Avon, NC. He is also survived by his aunt, Teresa Midgett (Barry). Blake was preceded in death by his father, John B. Miller, Jr.; his cousin, Justin Yopp; and his grandparents, Harry Gaskill, Inez Gaskill, and John B. Miller, Sr. Blake was movie star handsome, musically and vocally gifted, gentle natured, intelligent, loved animals, and aspired to serve his fellow man as a firefighter or a paramedic.
The hearts and spirits of Jettie, Nita, and the Miller family are shattered and devastated to share this sad news. The Miller family’s recent medical challenges have depleted their emergency resources. Blake’s funeral will be held 11 am, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. John United Methodist Church in Avon. The burial will be private. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
