WANCHESE — RoseTillett Davenport, 64, died peacefully at her home in Wanchese. Shefought a hard battle with brain cancer and lost that battle at 2:05a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. She will be remembered as a lovingwife, mother, and grandmother.
Born in Currituck County on October 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Nellie Swain Tillett and Herbert White Tillett.
Rosie is survived by herhusband of 43 years, Pastor Ken Davenport; two sons, Kenneth “Lee”Davenport, Jr. (Stephanie) and Herbert Conrade Davenport (Jessica);four, soon-to-be five, grandchildren, Luke, Henry Lee, Colby, Landen,and Joanna Rose; two sisters, Cheryl Daniels (Kenny) and Shelia Young(Chip); and many cousins.
A funeral will be heldat 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Bethany United MethodistChurch with Rev. Ken Mann officiating. Burial will follow at TillettCemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour priorto the service at the church.
