Election Day: Where to vote on Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands
Polls opened at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, in an unprecedented election that is already breaking records for voter turnout.
According to statistics released Sunday morning, 4,200,134 voters in North Carolina cast a ballot during the in-person early voting period which ended on Saturday. This easily surpassed the previous high mark set ahead of the 2020 general election, when 3,624,007 ballots were counted.
In Dare County, 19,264 ballots have been accepted through Saturday, with 18,106 cast early in-person and 1,158 by mail, which is a 56.3% turnout. Voters in Hyde County have submitted 1,216 ballots, 1,147 in-person and 69 by mail, which is a 38.1% turnout.
The last chance for eligible, registered North Carolina voters to make their voice heard in this election is Tuesday.
Where to Vote on Tuesday, Nov. 5
On Election Day, the polls are open in both Hyde and Dare counties from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Registered voters can cast their ballot at their precinct’s polling place, and the public can use the Voter Lookup Tool to find their polling place, sample ballots, and more. To be eligible, voters must vote at their assigned precinct on Election Day, and must bring their photo ID.
