On Monday January 13 at 6:30 pm, the Rodanthe Waves Salvo Civic Association will begin its 2025 Speaker Series, with a focus on human trafficking in the Outer Banks and beyond.
Steve Vanover, an Advocate for the Outer Banks Hotline, will explain what human trafficking looks like, including labor trafficking. He will be joined by Detective Donnie Varnell of the Dare County Sheriff’s office. They will also be discussing the prevalence of human trafficking across the country and North Carolina, and how people can be pulled into it.
This important topic can impact our entire island and surrounding areas. The entire community is invited to attend and raise our awareness.
The event is held at the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Building located at 23646 NC Hwy 12 in Rodanthe. Check out our webpage https://www.rwscivicassociation.org or check our Facebook page for more details.
