Share post:

A 13 foot 6-inch hammerhead shark was caught off of Ramp 38 just south of Avon on Wednesday, per the Red Drum Tackle Shop in Buxton.

The hammerhead shark took an hour or two to land with multiple local anglers taking turns reeling it in, and weighed in at roughly 1,000 pounds, the Red Drum Tackle Shop reported. The massive fish was revived and released soon after it was caught, and after posing for a few photos with the anglers in the surf, and swam off into the ocean shortly afterward.
