The Outer Banks Coast Guard Flotilla of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering a Coast Guard approved Boating Skills and Seamanship course beginning Thursday, April 23rd, 2020. The comprehensive 9-session class will meet twice a week through May21st from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. It will be held at the Pitt Center on Virginia Dare Trail in Southern Shores, NC.
This course meets the Boating Safety Education Training required by NC regulations for Boat and Personal Water Craft operators born on or after Jan 1, 1988.
Topics will include Boat handling and trailering, Navigation, Safe boat operations, Communications, Emergency situations, and Paddlecraft safety. All segments will be taught by Certified Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors and assistants with years of on-the-water experience and a few good stories to share. You will gain confidence on the water and learn so much useful information.
The tuition is $30.00/person ($55.00/couple) and includes a textbook and all materials.
