Book launch for Keeper James Charlet’s “Shipwreck Rescues of the Outer Banks” will be held on April 13

Announcing the Launch of Shipwreck Rescues of the Outer Banks: Sensational Wrecks and Heroic Rescues by the United States Life-Saving Service ISBN 978-1-4930-8770-9, Globe Pequot Publishing Group, 2025 by James D. Charlet. It is the sequel to my first volume Shipwrecks of the Outer Banks: Dramatic Rescues and Fantastic Wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic, Globe Pequot Press (imprint of Rowman & Littlefield), ISBN 978-1-4930-3590-8.

This event is free and open to the public. Keeper James will be available in his Full-Dress Keeper’s uniform to chat, sign and personalize your new book in this spectacular new venue. Both Volumes will be available for sale.

The first twenty hardcover copies off the presses will be available for purchase. There will be an official bookplate attached to each one, the place and date will be included, and they will also be  numbers.

Books Number 2 through 20 will be sold at $50 (but no advance sales). Book N^o 1 will go on silent auction. Those proceeds will be donated to my nonprofit Outer Banks Coast Guard History Preservation Group who are rescuing the 1898 Oregon Inlet U.S. Life-Saving Service Station N^o.16/Coast Guard Station N^o.176 right across the inlet.
