Cape Hatteras Volleyball wrapped up its regular season on Thursday, October 17th, with a heartbreaking loss to a tough Bear Grass team. The Hurricanes celebrated their four Seniors before their match. Elizabeth Fairbanks, Madison Fiscus, Lydia Hooper, and Shaytna Trejo have been huge contributors to the Hurricane Volleyball program and will be missed next year.
The Varsity finished the regular season 16-6 and were Co-Conference Champs with the Bear Grass Bears. Senior Middle Blocker, Elizabeth Fairbanks finished the regular season as the number one Hitter in 1A East, number one in all Class 1A, and 20th in all of NCHSAA High Schools in Kills for the season. Junior Setter, Eryn Ratliff is ranked number 3 in 1A East, number five overall class 1A, and number 38 in all NCHSAA Schools in Assists. Both girls set career marks the past week, with Elizabeth notching her 500th Kill in her career and Eryn Ratliff hitting the 1000th Assist mark.
The Lady Hurricanes are projected to host a home playoff game against Wake Prep Academy on Tuesday, October 22nd. Official seeding will take place on Sunday.
