The Coastal Humane Society is holding two Pet Vaccination Clinics this month – one this coming Sunday, May 19 in Manteo and another Wednesday, May 22 in Avon. Dr. Burkart from Roanoke Island Animal Hospital is the Clinic Veterinarian for both events.
The Manteo Clinic will be held in front of Good Dog Retreat from 11 am – 2 pm this Sunday. The Hatteras Island Clinic will be held at the Avon Fire Department on the 22 from 3-5 pm..
No appointments are needed. Payment must be by cash or check. Our Clinics are popular so families should be prepared to wait. It is first come, first served.
The vaccination package for dogs includes Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines for a total of $36. Heartworm testing is available for $20. The package for cats includes Rabies and FVRCP vaccines for $23. Vaccines are priced individually so families can choose whether they want the package for their pets or just some vaccines.
Families must bring their dogs to the Clinic on leashes and their cats in carriers.
The Coastal Humane Society began in 1997 as an all-volunteer non-profit organization helping everyone in the Outer Banks community care for their pets. 27 years later – thanks to the generosity of our community – the organization has helped over 11,000 Outer Banks pets maintain their health and stay together with their people. Programs include low-cost spay/neuter, vaccinations, medical assistance, heartworm testing, pet food and supplies in the wake of hurricanes and other community-wide emergencies. If you need help caring for your pet, call 252-261-7417 or send a message through https://obxcoastalhumanesociety.org/.
