Today is April 1 – Census Day! COVID-19 has brought healthcare, social services, emergency response and preparedness to the forefront, and in just 10 minutes, you can ensure funding to support these agencies and programs in our community for the future. By now, many Dare County households have received letters or postcards from the U.S. Census Bureau with details on how to complete the census. Some census deliveries to PO Boxes have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but anyone can take the census at any time. Use your home (physical street) address when filling out the survey online at my2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020 (English) or 1-844-468-2020 (Spanish).
It is more important than ever to respond to the 2020 Census online, by mail, or by phone. Responding now will minimize the need for the Census Bureau to send census takers out into communities to follow up. For more information about the census and frequently asked questions, visit darenc.com/census. With a stay at home order in place, it has never been easier or quicker to complete the census. Please take a few moments and respond today to make sure Dare County counts.
