The Dare County Public Works Department has announced that there will be no changes to Dare County’s residential or commercial trash collection schedule for Independence Day, which will be celebrated on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
All unincorporated areas of Dare County and the Town of Kitty Hawk, for which Dare County Public Works provides trash collection services, will therefore operate on their normal schedule on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
However, all Dare County offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of Independence Day.
These closures include the Dare County C&D Landfill, Manns Harbor Transfer Station, Buxton Transfer Station and Manteo Recycle Yard. All Dare County offices and facilities will reopen and operate with their regularly scheduled hours on Friday, July 5, 2024.
