Dare County has released a new video in its “On the Job” series highlighting county staff members who are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic at the vaccine clinic in Kill Devil Hills.
The video features a walk-through of the vaccine clinic at the Dare County Youth Center at Family Recreation Park and shows viewers how the clinic works, as well as what they can expect when they show up to receive their shot.

Dare County is currently accepting COVID-19 vaccination appointments for all residents age 16 and older.
The Dare County Department of Health & Human Services (DCDHHS) also reminds residents of the importance of everyone in Dare County receiving the vaccine in order to protect the Outer Banks community.
“Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools we have available,” commented DCDHHS Director Dr. Sheila Davies. “Vaccines are not only one of public health’s major accomplishments in the 20th century; they are an essential tool for fighting disease. The COVID-19 vaccine will work with your immune system so it will be ready to fight the virus if you are exposed after you reach full immunity. Everyone has a spot to take their shot, and we hope that all residents of Dare County will take advantage of this service and get vaccinated.”
As of March 21,2021, the DCDHHS has administered 19,268 shots and is scheduled to administer an additional 4,420 over the next two weeks.
