Dare County is re-releasing a video highlighting the Saving Lives Task Force as a reminder about the resources that are available locally to those who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction.
In the video, Dare County Commissioner Ervin Bateman discusses the issue of substance abuse in Dare County—which has averaged 13 opioid deaths each year since 2017—and talks about the toll that drug and alcohol abuse can have not only on an individual user but also on their friends and family members.
