Per a Saturday morning update from event organizers, the Day at the Docks Celebration for 2020, (which is typically held on the third weekend in September), has been canceled for 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is with great sadness that we, the Day at the Docks Committee, must cancel this year’s celebration,” stated the update. “With the uncertainty of Covid-19 and Governor Cooper’s recent announcement for North Carolina to remain in Phase 2, we feel it is best for the health and safety of everyone.”
“Please understand that this was not an easy decision! We hope to hold the Blessing of the Fleet and will keep you updated once a date is finalized. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our village as well as the working waterfront that helps keep it so special!”
