The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation (HICF) was thrilled to receive a recent $10,000 donation from local property management and real estate company, Surf or Sound Realty.
The check was presented to Renee Burrus, HICF Community Liaison, by Morgan Veyna, Vice President of Operations; Mikki Rollinson, Senior accountant; Dale Petty, Owner (not pictured); and other Surf or Sound personnel at the Avon Surf or Sound office on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Founded in the year 2000, the HICF provides assistance to local residents dealing with cancer to help with needs such as travel expenses, prescriptions, and medical supplies, as well as medical bills that are not covered by insurance.
Since its inception, the HICF has assisted hundreds of islanders with cancer and their families with grants in excess of $1,000,000.
Surf or Sound Realty is a locally owned and operated premier property management and real estate sales company that has been in business since 1978 and has offices in Salvo, Avon, and Hatteras Village.
“We are delighted with this generous donation, and it will go a long way in maintaining our continual mission to help our local families who are dealing with cancer,” said HICF Vice President Donna Barnett.
