Keeper James will be appearing at the Island Convenience store in Rodanthe on Wednesday, November 22 from noon until 2:00 p.m. for another “Thanksgiving Event.” Keeper James says, “I am thankful for a second time to follow the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association Pie and Bake Sale at the RWS Community Building in Rodanthe on Wednesday, November 22, from 10 a.m. ‘til noon (or sold out). Last year, that event was very successful, and we had a lot of happy folks coming over right after that for more possible Christmas presents, which was also very successful!”
James D. Charlet, AKA “Keeper James,” is a local permanent resident of RWS and particularly enjoys being at these local events. He will be selling, signing, and personalizing copies of his best-selling book, Shipwrecks of the Outer Banks: Dramatic Rescues and Fantastic Wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic, Globe Pequot Press. It is selling out at the bookstores at the Cape Hatteras and Bodie Island Lighthouse.
“These two events are offering rare ‘homemade’ gifts. The pies and cakes are obviously lovingly homemade. And so was my book. Yes, it was published by a national publisher and sold internationally, but it was written 100% in my Hatteras Island home!”
“I was surprised by how many people last year were buying multiple copies as Christmas gifts. I am also very thankful for that!”
