The North Carolina Beach Buggy Association (NCBBA) will hold its second Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) cleanup event of 2024 on Saturday, June 22.
For over 30 years, the NCBBA has been supporting North Carolina’s Adopt-A-Highway program. The area of trash pickup coverage begins on the south end of the Marc Basnight Bridge and goes three miles north on N.C. Highway 12, along both sides of the highway.
The event begins at the ORV Ramp 4 parking lot at 7:30 a.m. where volunteers are given instructions on what .5-mile area of Highway 12 they will be walking.
NCBBA will be distributing reflective vests, grabbers, gloves, and garbage bags. Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the weather, and boots are recommended. Insect repellent will be provided.
Please reply to Carol.Mowers@ncbba.org if you are available for this summer AAH event. All children between the ages of 12 to17 will need a “Youth Participation Release Form” signed by a parent, which can be signed on the day of the event.
