Outer Banks History Center will temporary close for renovations starting Nov. 1

The Outer Banks History Center (OBHC) in Manteo, the eastern branch of the State Archives of North Carolina, will temporarily close to the public due to renovations beginning

Nov. 1, 2024, and will reopen Feb. 3, 2025.

On-site research services will not be available for the duration of the project, but remote reference services will be offered on a limited basis.

For remote services, please contact the staff at 252-423-5240 or obhc@dncr.nc.gov. The OBHC’s closure will not interfere with Roanoke Island Festival Park’s hours of operation.
