UPDATE: Texas high-speed pursuit training is top USCG video
The U.S. Coast Guard’s has tallied up the votes for its 2014 Video of the Year and the winner is a video of high-speed pursuit training out of Texas.
“From a time-lapse from a Coast Guard cutter’s patrol to the last minute rescue of two young men,” the Coast Guard said on Compass, its official blog, “your favorite videos showcased the commitment Coast Guard men and women display on each and every mission, each and every day.”
The top three winners are:
First place: High-Speed Pursuit Training. The first place video features a first-hand look at tactical law enforcement training and allows you to ride along with crews throughout south Texas.
Second place: Turtle Rescue. The second place video features the rescue of an 800-pound leatherback turtle by a Coast Guard crew from Station Cape May in New Jersey.
Third place: Station Bellingham Rescue. The third-place video gives you a front-row seat as a Coast Guard crew from Station Bellingham in Washington rescues two young men after their canoe overturned.
“We would like to thank everyone who voted for their favorite video, as well as all the units and videographers for their exceptional work throughout 2014,” according to the blog on Compass. “We look forward to showcasing the missions of the U.S. Coast Guard in 2015 and thanks again to all our fans!”
