Fair Haven UMC is bringing a Christmas Tree Farm to Rodanthe
The Fair Haven United Methodist Church (UMC) in Rodanthe is once again bringing a Christmas Tree Farm to Rodanthe, in an event that serves as both a fundraiser for the church, as well as an opportunity for islanders to pick up a tree and make their holiday season brighter.
The Christmas Tree Farm was first launched in 2020 after the first year of the Coronavirus pandemic, and was a big success for organizers and island residents alike. This year, the farm will once again be stationed on the grounds of the Rodanthe-based church, starting on Friday, December 3.
“We have about 60 Christmas trees this year, and they’re for donation only [for] any size,” stated Pastor Tim Fitch of Fair Haven UMC. “They can come to the church, or contact us on Facebook to help them load and pick out a Christmas tree. ”
The price for a Christmas tree is basically a donation of any amount to the Fair Haven UMC church, and proceeds from the sale go straight back into helping the Tri-villages community on Hatteras Island.
The Christmas Tree Farm will officially begin at 6:00 p.m. on December 3, and all trees are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Folks can come by during the farm’s operation to pick up a tree at any time, until there are no more trees left.
“This is just the way that we love our island and our communities,” stated Pastor Tim Fitch. “2021 and the pandemic has been hard on everyone, so if we can just show a little extra joy this season, it’s what we want to do.”
