AVON– Bonita Austin Williams, 79, passed away at her residence on Tuesday,April 6, 2010. A native of Avon, she was the daughter of thelateWilliam J. Austin and the late Rachel Jennette Austin. Shewaspreceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Williams, III.
Mrs.Williams will be remembered for her love of being outside and meetingpeople, especially at the store in Avon that she co-owned with herhusband, Charles. She was well known for her cooking skillsandloved being surrounded by family and friends. She was anactivemember of St. Johns United Methodist Church and held offices in theEastern Star.
Mrs.Williams is survived by her three children — sons, Charles Williams IVand wife Bonnie and Michael Williams, both of Avon, and daughter,Annette O’Neal and husband Kyle of Frisco; eight grandchildren –Hannah Dunavant, Matthew Williams, Keith Williams, Andrew Williams,Kate Williams, Dustin Peele, Warren O’Neal, and LindsayO’Neal — and seven great-grandchildren. She is alsosurvived by a sister, Faye Cartwright, and husband Montell of PortCharlotte, Fla.
Afuneral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, at St. JohnsUnited Methodist Church in Avon with the Rev. Roger Dillofficiating. Visitation will be the night before, from 6 –8:00 p.m., also at the church. According to her wishes, Mrs.Williams will be interred alongside her husband and parents in thefamily cemetery in Avon immediately following the funeral service inAvon.
