AVON– Kathy Jo Kellogg Petersen, 61, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at herresidence. She was born in Omaha, Neb. on Aug. 14, 1948.

Ms.Petersen is survived by her father, Erwin Schultz, and wife, Sue, ofFort Pierce, Fla.; two daughters, Amy Annelle Petersen Messer andhusband, Derek. of Apex, N.C. and Jennifer Anne Petersen of Raleigh,N.C.; two sisters, Tricia Marsh and Lynne Boro; one brother, JaySchultz; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by hermother, Mary Ann Segelberg Kellogg Schultz.

Amemorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, at 2 p.m. at theAvon Pier. Kathy loved the beaches of the Outer Banks. In lieu offlowers, donations can be sent toobpa-nc.org.
