SALVO– Janie C. Hooper, 93, of Salvo, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, inRodanthe. Mrs. Hooper was born in Frisco and worked for 35 yearsfor Hatteras Island Resort and was a member of Clarkes-Bethel UnitedMethodist Church in Salvo.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Courtney W. Barnett, and her husband, Floyd W. Hooper.
Survivingare her daughters, Dean H. Bruce and Donna D. Hooper both of Salvo; herbrother, Jackie Barnett of Frisco; two granddaughters, Shirley Kornegayand Loretta Lynn Bruce, and two great-grandchildren, Floyd Kornegay andEthan Kornegay. Also surviving is her niece, Elsie Hooper ofSalvo.
A celebration of life will be in Little GroveUnited Methodist Church in Frisco on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. byRev. Roger Barnett and Rev. Dwight Burrus. Burial will follow in theBarnett Family Cemetery in Frisco. Friends may join the family atLittle Grove United Methodist Church Friday from 7 until 9 p.m.
