BUXTON– Stanley Everrett Meekins, 62, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at theOuter Banks Hospital, Nags Head. Mr. Meekins was a conveniencestore manager and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was the son of the late Luther Hall and Ila Lee Miller Meekins and the husband of the late Virginia O’Neal Meekins.
Survivingare two daughters, Stacy M. Davis and husband Timmy of King William,Va., and Crystal Meekins of Buxton; three sisters, Shirley Silver ofAvon, Mary Wilson of Water Town, Tenn., and Rita Mcpherson ofHomosassa, Fla.; two brothers, Luther Meekins Jr. and Winifred Meekinsboth of Buxton; three grandchildren, Christian Meekins, Ivey Austin,and Brittny Austin, and special friends George and Ann O’Neal. Mr.Meekins was also preceded in death by his sister, Rhoda Ann Gray.
Aservice of remembrance will be Monday, Jan. 28, in St. Johns UnitedMethodist Church at 11 a.m. by Rev. Roger Barnett and Rev. Roger Dill.
