FRISCO– Carol “Dee” Bourne Derbin, 72, died Aug. 31, 2013, at the home ofher daughter in Frisco. Born in Walterboro, S.C., on Jan. 24, 1941, shewas the daughter of the late James Blease Bourne and Ruby TowlesBourne. Dee was a graduate of Conway High School, in Conway, S.C., andthe University of South Carolina School of Business. She was employedby the Horry County School District for many years. Dee was a formermember of First Baptist Church, Conway, S.C.
Surviving are herdaughter, Tracy Derbin, and husband, Mark; granddaughters, Kylee TowlesNewton and Sally Morgan Newton of the home; sister, Ann B. Melton, ofMurrells Inlet, S.C.; brothers Tom and Jon Bourne of Conway, S.C.;niece Julie Todd, and great-nieces Kate and Madi Evans.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
