CHESAPEAKE — Edna Foster Garrish, 94, Went to be with the Lord, Monday, Nov. 2, 2015.
Born in Hatteras, she was the daughter of the late Susan BallanceFoster and Charles Foster. She was predeceased by her husband, Myron A.Garrish Jr.; a daughter, Donna Garrish; siblings, Alma Foster Willis,Lola Foster Gaskins, Ernal Foster, Hallas Foster, William Foster andGaston Foster. Edna was a long-time resident of SouthNorfolk. She was a member of Chesapeake Avenue United MethodistChurch where she was in the Howell Bible Class and the United MethodistWomen. She was also a past member of the South Norfolk Chapter ofthe Eastern Star and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She alsoenjoyed playing the piano, especially old hymns.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Garrish Watson, and husbandBrian; a grandson, James Arthur Ward Jr.; a granddaughter, MichelleWatson; a great-granddaughter, Liliana Tedesco; a special niece,Melanie Foster Collins, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 5,at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road,Chesapeake. Dr. Will Langford and Rev. Richard Castleberrywill officiate. The interment will follow in Riverside MemorialPark. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdayat the funeral home.
