FRISCO — JoanneAustin, 70, of Frisco died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at her home. A native ofHatteras Island, she was the daughter of the late Ivey B. Austin Jr.and Betty Elizabeth Austin. Joanne was employed with the North CarolinaDOT Ferry Division.
Joanne is survived by a son, Barry Peele Jr. and fianc�e, Laura Young,of Hatteras; a daughter, Stacey Sparks and fianc�, Benjamin Taylor, ofHarkers Island, N.C.; and two granddaughters, Molly and Hannah Sparks.Also surviving is a brother, Tracy S. Austin, and wife, Chyrel, ofHatteras; two nephews, Tracy Austin Jr. and Royce Austin, and a niece,Maggie Austin.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, atHatteras United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Davenport and Rev.Dwight Burrus officiating.
