FRISCO — Charlie William PhelpsSr. left this world to be with the lord on April 25, 2016. “Charlie Bill,” as he was known in his younger days, was born toGoratha and William T. Phelps on Feb. 23, 1945, who preceded him indeath as well as his sister, Doreen P. Warren.
He served in the Army National Guard in the 1960s and was honorablydischarged in 1969. He worked for the N.C. Department of Transportationfor more than 20 years and retired as a maintenance supervisor in DareCounty.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine T. Phelps, of Frisco; hisdaughter, Charlene Phelps, of Merry Hill, N.C., and son, Billy Phelps,as well as various nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service in his honor will be held on Friday, April 29, at 2p.m. at the Cape Hatteras Baptist Church in Frisco with a visitationwith the family immediately afterwards in the fellowship hall. In lieuof flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice is appreciated.
