CHESAPEAKE, VA. — Brenda O’NealEwell, 67, of died on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home. Born into aloving family on August 15, 1948 in Rodanthe, she was the daughter ofthe late Frederick D. O’Neal and Ethel Midgett O’Neal. Life withoutBrenda will not be the same. She will forever be in the hearts andmemories of those who loved her.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Ewell; two sons, RobbieEwell and wife, Jill, and Tim Ewell and wife, Abby; and hergrandchildren, Gabrielle, Alden, Taylor, Griffin, Fletcher andSullivan. She is also survived by a brother, Ronnie O’Neal and wife,Mary; and a sister, Verona Jennings. Along with her parents, Brenda waspredeceased by two brothers, Dalton and Gary O’Neal.
Brenda’s main love in life was her family. A proud grandmama, hergrandchildren brought her the most joy and having them around was allshe wanted. She was a strong and determined woman who knew what shewanted and didn’t let her health stop her. Brenda loved havingget-togethers, celebrations and parties and lived by the motto “themore the merrier.” She never held a grudge and was extremely generousthroughout all her endeavors.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Fair HavenUnited Methodist Church in Rodanthe with Rev. Jim Bliss and Rev. Dr.Susanna Fitch-Slater officiating. Burial will follow at the O’Nealfamily cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday evening at Twiford Colony Chapel inManteo.
