FRISCO – Barbara TaylorSatterthwaite, 74, of Frisco, NC and formerly of Newtown, Pennsylvaniadied Sunday, April 30, 2017. Born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania onJanuary 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dorothea Mae TaylorSatterthwaite and William Satterthwaite. Barbara was preceded in deathby her husband, John “Jack” M. Hebenstreit.
Barbara was a graduate ofCouncil Rock High School, Newtown, PA and Peirce School of Business,Philadelphia, PA. Having spent her career in the publishing industry,she worked as the office manager for The Island Breeze, Hatterasisland’s monthly news publication.
She was a member of LittleGrove United Methodist Church and Cape Hatteras Angler’s Club. Barbara wasvery involved in the church and occasionally wrote and gave sermons.Her many hobbies included fishing, golfing, snow skiing, bowling,reading, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Barbara is survived by sixstep-children and their extended families; sisters, Nancy S. Cassel andhusband, Carl, and Charlotte C. Detwiler and husband, John; niece,Karen C. Boye and husband, Jay; and nephew, Carl F. Cassel, Jr. andwife, Kimberly.
Amemorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017,at Little Grove United Methodist Church in Frisco, NC.
