BUXTON — Fletcher R. Medlin died at his home in Buxton, NC on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 92.
He formerly lived in Norfolk, VA and retired from the Norfolk NavalStation. Also, having lived in Henderson, NC, Fletcher served hiscountry honorably in the United States Navy during World War II.
At his home in Buxton, Fletcher was well loved by his many friends andneighbors. He enjoyed gardening and would often share his fruits andvegetables with others.
Fletcher is survived by his wife, Katie Christine; a son, Dennis andwife, Penny; three grandchildren, Amanda O’Connell and husband, Jack,Austin, and Ashley; and one great-grandson, Graham.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27,2017, at Elmwood Cemetery in Henderson, NC. A memorial service will beheld in Buxton at a later date.
