OCRACOKE — Betsy Anna O’Neal Midgette passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the age of 70.
Betsy was a lifelong resident of Ocracoke Island, NC, although due todeclining health she lived with her son, Brad, in Bath, NC for the lasttwo years. Betsy was known and loved by many, and her laughter will bemissed. Betsy worked at the Island Inn most of her working life, andthrough those many years made some lifelong friends and touched manylives. She was a member of The Ocracoke United Methodist Church.
Betsy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edward CarlsonO’Neal, Sr and Edna Styron O’Neal. She leaves behind her son, BradfordEarl Midgette, Jr., her granddaughter, Allyson Maye Midgette, andgreat-granddaughter, Makenzie Spruill, her grandsons, Thomas Midgetteand Garrett Midgette. Also, surviving is her brother, Edward CarlsonO’Neal, Jr and wife, Stella Spencer O’Neal, along with her nephews,Edward O’Neal, III, Andy O’Neal and Albert O’Neal and niece, StephanieO’Neal and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Ocracoke United Methodist Church.
