KILL DEVIL HILLS — Bruce Hart Frazier of Kill Devil Hills, NC, a beloved husband, father, brother, and esteemed university professor, passed away on November 21, 2023, at The Outer Banks Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1948, in Oxford, North Carolina, making him 75 years old at the time of his passing.
Bruce was the orchestra conductor at Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas for the late Loretta Lynn. He took her songs and arranged the music for the orchestras that performed with her. He also worked closely with Velton Bunch on television shows.
Bruce dedicated his life to academia, serving as a university professor where he shared his wealth of knowledge and passion for music and television with countless students. His commitment to education and nurturing young minds will be remembered by all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Bruce was a devout parishioner of St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, finding solace and strength within its walls. His faith was an integral part of his life, providing him guidance and support throughout his journey.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Angela Johnson Frazier, who stood by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges. He also leaves behind his children, Michael Bruce Frazier and Jan Frazier Thomas, whose lives were enriched by their father’s wisdom and love. Additionally, his brother, William Robert Frazier, mourns the loss of a dear sibling.
In honor of Bruce’s life, a celebration will be held at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church on a yet-to-be-determined date and time. Father Nathan Finnin will officiate the ceremony, guiding family and friends as they pay their final respects to this remarkable individual.
Bruce Hart Frazier will be dearly missed by all who knew him, as his kind heart, unwavering dedication, and intellectual brilliance left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him.
