OCRACOKE — Danny Creighton Worsley, a beloved member of the Ocracoke community, passed away on May 21, 2024, in Ocracoke, NC at the age of 74. He was born on March 8, 1950, in Rocky Mount, NC.
Danny led a fulfilling life, dedicating his career to various roles that showcased his expertise and passion. He worked as an Engineer for CSX Railroad, contributed his skills to the National Forest Service in Montana, served with the NCDOT – Ferry Division, and found joy as a Commercial Fisherman on Ocracoke Island. Additionally, he was a devoted Steward of the
Ocracoke Community Park Baseball Field, where he poured his energy into preserving a cherished community space.
His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life, as he helped create and nurture the Ocracoke Community Ball Park with unwavering focus, dedication, and devotion.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Shala Worsley, and brother, Tommy Worsley. He was preceded in death by his parents Juanita Cetta Keyton and Charles Creighton Worsley. Danny’s legacy will be remembered by all who knew him, as his impact on his community and loved ones will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
