Destiney D. Akers, a life-long resident of many hearts as well as Kill Devil Hills, NC and Portsmouth, VA, died unexpectedly on September 16, 2020 at the age of 32- just nine days from turning 33.
Destiney is survived by her parents, Susan Renee Belvin and Dallas Griffith; her husband, Andy Coder; her children, Avah Akers, RJ Setford, and Michael Coder; her sister, Amber Shannon (Cleaver); her grandmother, Brenda Mitchussion; a niece, Kristin Keller; two nephews, Rog and Ryan Shannon, and the Carlton family as well as so many friends and family not listed.
Destiney was predeceased by her stepfather, Rick Belvin and her great-grandmother Hazel A. Parker, and sadly some friends.
Destiney was born in Portsmouth, VA September 25, 1988 to her mother also from Portsmouth. She went to First Flight High School and was currently unemployed due to COVID-19. Her happiest times were spent with her children. Destiney was having marital issues that were being worked through, but she was a devoted mother because she would always giver her all and do her best at everything.
She loved her children with all of her heart and will continue to watch over them now from heaven. They were the most important part of her life. Destiney Dawn will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
