James “Jim” Nast, the big guy, was born on December 6, 1940, in Bloomsburg, PA, and passed away on June 29, 2024, in Nags Head, NC. He is survived by his wife, Lou Anne; children, Amy (John) Coughlin and Craig Nast; grandchildren, Carly (Robert) Deluca and Johnny and Ryan Coughlin; great-grandchildren, Beau, Derek, and Nicholas; and granddog, Eli. Jim was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna, and brother, Bill.
Jim was an avid Giants fan, golfer, and member of the Masons, Elks, Shriners, Duck Methodist Church, and Duck Woods Country Club. He graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1958 and Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia in 1962. He was married for 62 years and worked as the Director of Human Resources at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ for over 26 years. Jim was a fixture at the beach on Pintail Drive in Carolina Dunes.
Jim will be laid to rest at the Hidlay Church Cemetery, North Centre, PA, at 2:00 p.m. on July 6, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Outer Banks Dementia Friendly Coalition.
