John Franklin Cornelius

CLAYTON — John F. Cornelius was born January 21, 1944, in Bradford, PA, and went to be with God on August 2, 2021, at Wake Med in Raleigh, NC.

John served in the Airforce as an airplane mechanic and later in life worked as a movie projectionist and sign designer, running his own company on the Outer Banks, for over 25 years. Lastly, John worked for the NC Ferry System in Hatteras, NC where he later retired from.

John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol J. Cornelius, his son Christopher M. Cornelius, daughter-in-law Martina Cornelius and grandson Jayden C. Cornelius of Clayton, NC.

The family will honor John’s plans for cremation and there are no services planned at this time.  Expressions of sympathy and comfort are welcome via the online register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.  Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
